Can anyone advise me please, I have recently bought a 16hands tb he is 8 years old but has Knock Knees, will this cause problems riding him and is there anything I can buy to overcome any problems, he is a very loving and placid horse. just a bit exciteable.

What do you mean by knock kneed? How severe is it? Is he close at the knee or pigeon toed? So long as he doesn't interfere excessively (eg. strike himself with the other leg) you should be ok for general riding. It all depends how severe it is, did you have him vetted when you bought him? If so did the vet give an opinion on it?
Edited to add that brushing and possibly overreach boots are likely to be a good idea when he's being ridden. Sympathetic shoeing may help to an extent but won't cure it. At the end of the say if he's the horse for you and can do what you ask of him, then it doesn't matter:)

Do you have any photos of his knees? Depending on the severity of his knees will depend on how it will effect him. If you're not wanting him as a Grand Prix Dressage horse or a top eventer, i wouldn't worry too much. My horse is crooked all over but he does what i ask him to do and it doesn't cause him any problems, you just don't have to look to close at him!

Polo has slight knock knees and as a result is slightly arthritic in them but this is aged 18 when you expect some aches and pains to begin to show themselves ;) It has not stopped him driving all his life and doing driving trials, and he has never brushed or over-reached, his action is fairly straight he is just noticably rather knock kneed when stood still. He still works and I am aiming to compete him in club driving trials again next year - so you can see it has not stopped us :D

Hi Thanks everyone for replying
Robbie's knees aren't too bad but on his vetting certificate it states knock kneed hence dishes with front legs. I can't send a phot as it is too large

If he just dishes a bit I wouldn't worry too much, it's not uncommon and doesn't stop them doing anything unless it's very severe.
