View Full Version : Injured during jump off

During the jump off I strained my right inner thigh muscles so lost the use of the right leg. I swapped my whip in to the right hand to use that instead of the leg and still managed to complete the course. Still a clear round, so came 2nd, but I could barely dismount and walk afterwards.

You have my sympathy.
I once tore the ligaments that connect my inner thigh muscle to the pelvis. Took about 6 weeks to cure the problem and Oh the pain:o

I managed to strain my left groin muscle in a jump off last month. I was turning my upper body to the right in mid air, and he landed slightly heavily, so much so that my helmet even thudded down over my eyes! Anyway, my left groin muscle suffered on the impact of landing!
I was in agony the next day, but it came right pretty quickly :)

I am actually looking into lots of alternative stretches and exercise to compliment my riding, to strengthen my muscles and improve my fitness :)
Renewing my swimming membership tomorrow as I like low resistance training!:)

I do a daily a course of stretches and always stretch before I ride. I also have a massage every couple of weeks which works wonders for your riding and helps counteract the muscular tightness that cycling and riding cause.

Yann - no thank you! I am worried now that I am too slow to out run them.

Ouch, sorry to hear about your injury. Very impressive that you finished anyway.

i couldn't ride for 6 whole months & 4 months on i'm still not back to my old self i broke my ankle i was at a show jumping a 5ft course and my horse fell on me how i don't knw cause i can't remember as i got knocked out....... then i got all clear to ride and the next week i went hunting and a pony kicked my ankle so it broke again and my horse has a mark from where he got kicked........ i've been back in saddle for 4 months now but hate spreads and i've a show in 2 weeks :eek:
