As you can see the process of changing around the site has begun. I've added quite a few new forums to the message board and moved a couple of the existing ones around. There's still some work to do in replacing the graphics around the message board and tidying up a few other bits which I'll aim to get done as soon as possible.
I might need to turn the board off a few more times to make these changes.
Have a look, see what you think, and let me know if you we've missed something, need another forum, have too many or anything else.

Congratulations on your hard work! The (old look) site has been my favourite for a while and I didn't think it possible it could get better, but it has!
I really like the combination of the two sites-saves swapping back and forward.
Thank you for all the work you've put in-I look forward to many more happy hours!

When I logged on this afternoon, I was so surprised!! I just logged on this morning, and everthing was as usual. Quite a suprise when I came back, but it looks GREAT!!! I am really impressed with the changes, and I can't wai to start posting in the new forums.

I like the new design of the site! But personally I think that there are too many forums on the message board now. It's getting confusing! I believe that most people read all the posts anyway - at least I do. So why not keep things as simple as they were!

Thanks for the comments.
The Archives forum section will disappear soon as I need to save some space on the server. I am aware there is quite a long list of forums at the moment but the disadvantage of having less is that messages soon scroll off the bottom and may not get the replies they deserve if they were in sections of their own.
Always open to suggestions, so if you think we can combine or remove forums - suggest away.

I noticed that if you type in the H&R site address, it's just a link to New Rider! I kind of liked having two message boards, but having it all on one "super" site makes it that much more convenient! The homepage new look is great! Yellow IS a great colour, despite what people think!
Good Luck!

But please can we have back the opening graphic with the horse and rippling water? I loved that!
Best wishes and thanks for all your hard work, Mike, Sarah, Sue, et al.

I just realised what everyone was talking about...as i have been using the newrider site longer than the horse and rider site..so i did not get much of all the changes going on with the new look ..BUT NOW I UNDERSTAND! hehe anwyay i think this site is great...books are great too..but ina book you only get one opinion and then need to buy another book to try a different method! this is one of the best sites I have used when it comes to finding out things quickly!with all the kind people around willing to feed you with all their knowledge..absolutely fab!

Please dont ditch the archives Mike! I find them really usefull! Couldnt you just condense them a bit if you need to save space? Maybe just have one years worth?
Call me old fashioned, but I prefered the old 'horse and rippling water' thingy too! (Hi Sally, did you get my e-mail?!)
Like the idea of amalgamating the two sites tho'- I could never be bothered to swithch back and forth! Maybe im just lazy...!

Oh ya! I forgot about that picture! If it doesn't take up too much room, or you can fit it somewhere, is it possible for you to stick it somewhere? It was cute how the water rippled and everything! If not, that's okay! I like the new look anyhow! Very professional!

Looks like the rippling horse was popular :)
I'll have a think to see if it can be fitted in.

Great look. Thanks for all the hard work.
However constructive criticism time if I may.
1 What has happened to the historical H&R forum messages as I do not seem to be able to find them?
2 Please can I join the list of people asking for the horse graphic back?
3 I appreciate the need for a chance to look at all the new questions and give each one a reply, but I too think there are too many fora and questions will get lost or put in the wrong box, or put inot general as that is where most people go first anyway.
How about Horse care. Rider training English, Rider Training Western. Horse training Western, Horse training English, Tack, Friends and Hello, and General , for not specifics, philosophicals and general let off steams. I am not sure about the mature Rider one. A total of 8 poss nine fora? What do other folks think?
PS Sorry Mike Forgot to add to the list the maintenance forums, help updates and new pages as well. Not forgetting Enlightened Equitation as well!!! Sorry Heather

Hello Mossy
1. Unfortunately there was no way to bring them them over.
2. Noted
3. Very willing to shuffle around the forums - if we can get a few more comments and reach a concensus.

The new look is great, but there were several ongoing forums in the horse and rider site that I was following (and joining in with) that have just disappeared, which is a bit annoying. Like someone cutting you off mid-phone call and you can't get the connection back. Is there any way of letting us access the old site forums, but any additions have to be posted on the new site? It would make the changeover more gradual, but much less annoying.
Cheers,
Tina J

I'd really like the Horse and Rider messages back. I'd just started to follow and add to a few threads. TOnight I had to register again on this site.

Ps The new format is prety good otherwise!

I love the new look! A few points though, if I may be so bold. A-Horse graphic. I miss it dearly! :)
B-I agree with the group, too many forums. Maybe after a while, the ones that aren't etting many hits could be condensed into something like a special disciplines forum. Just my two cents. Great job once again. :)
