Hiya i went on my first hunt yesterday! took copper...it was his first time aswell!!
i loved it, he was excellent at the meet, but got abit curious when all of a sudden about 50 horses appeared at once. Ears shot up when the horn blew and off we went.
we went with my mate on her tb who is a hunter/showjumper and my other friend on her new horse.
Copper behaved really well and wasnt as strong as i thought he would be, he did try and roll when we were stood in the field (sweat irritating him) but he didnt manage to get down haha, but another girls pony unfortunately rolled with her ontop :o
But yer copper absolutely loved himself, we did about 2 n a half hours then decided to leave but he kept trying to turn back and cantered down the rd on the way home lol with a mixture of trottin n jogging haha...no walking
Anyway will definately be up to go again, its wicked.
went with the quorn BTW!
heres some pics if i can get

That's really cool - i am so glad you enjoyed it. Have been brought up hunting so want everyone else to realise what a fun day it can be (i try not to think to hard about the whole fox issue, it gets too political!!)
And to be out with the Quorn as well - i visited once and they have fantastic country, i am VERY jealous

Sounds like Copper did beautifully! The pictures look wonderful. I'm so glad you had a good time. I want to get out to a full hunt with Bud, but I'm not sure we'll manage to fit it in this year.

Hi, glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. I am also thinking of coming out with Quorn but not sure if we'll be OK! I have fell pony who is 6 and neither of us have ever been hunting before. Can you tell me a bit more about it? Like how big the jumps were? :)

Angiebabe - its a very good hunt, VERY popular so just be careful what time you choose as sometimes it can be very busy. where abouts do you live?
meets are every tuesday, and you wont know how your pony is till you try, very good hunt and they are very friendly, my friend was having abit of trouble and one of the whipper in`s stayed with her for the whole hunt at the back which i thought was really nice. you dont have to jump anything you dont want to - you could go and not jump a single thing as every fence has a way round which over half the people take, most the jumps when i went were around the 3ft mark, anyway best of luck and let me know which meet you went to if you decide to go

hiya!
I'm glad to hear that you had a good day, nice photos.
I am going to close this thread now as hunting is a very emotive topic so we try to avoid it on NR - sorry!
