Yeah - you can do it! My brother's a showjumper, he is 8 and is jumping (wait for it) .............................. 1ft! (With his fat little 11.2!) lol
Can you stop text talking though, because it is hard for me to read!

if you have the right horses, funding, lessons, transport & time then yes.
i jumped ja when i was a jrn,had to give up when i fractured my spine, when i started riding again i did more showing than jumping & the ja ponies got sold for whp.
now i am back into jumping & i do showing also.:D

After that took me 15 minutes to decipher, I have a question. Do you mean you want to be a professional show jumper as an occupation, or do you just want to show jump?
I ask this, because I call myself a show jumper, but mainly for fun and recreation. Anyone can be a show jumper really!

well---im not sure exactly whats the best way to go but I too dream of being a show jumper (professionaly) and my plan is to first go to college (major in equine studies instruction/training) and hopefully ride for the IHSA team and maybe meet some important people and once out of college use the people i met to find a well known rider to work for, even if its mucking out stalls in their barn and work my way up from there. since i in no way have the money to do this that is the only way i can think of to get it done. it might take a while and a lot of hard work but it will be worth it in the end.

i BSJA, have yo tried doin young riders?! its the best option i found, it opens new doors, like you are able to meet loads of new people, and can get on teams, and even be made offers, i was offered to go to America to train 4 3 yrs so its really good

Is that why there's lots of '*'s' in there? I'm even more confused :) I agree about the text speak though, it's pretty much incomprehensible!

To be a showjumper as a profession, you ahve to have alot of time, patience and above all money. These things definatly dont come cheap. Regitrasion fees can cost alot, entry fees, trainers fees, transport etc.... the list is endless, plus all the stuff your horse and yourself will need!
But pretty much anyone can be a showjumper, just not as a profession like tim stockdale or William funnel.
Starting young can help, but you can start jumping big tracks at any age, as long as you ahve the experience!
But i would recommed to start jumping at small county shows, then move to things like PUK champs. and into teams, that compete at the festival of champions.
If you ahve to JA and a grade A horse i take it you already jump big tracks with them, through BSJA, so start qualifiing for those bigger competitions and soon you'll be at HOYS or OLYMPIA.
My dream is to become a top rider for englands showjumping team, and go to the olypics, but at the minute with college, and my a levels its not an option, as soon as i have my grades, i will be straight back into it.
good luck with whatever happens!
