I'm hoping to get a western saddle very soon so I need to buy a cinch.
My partbred QH is approx 14.1 -14.2, and according to my weight tape, weighs 400kg.
Can anyone give me an idea of what lengh cinch I need. The make I want to get comes in 26"-36" at 2" intervals.
In my western book all the photo's show the cinch buckle near the top of the sholder, is that right? If so I'll try measuring her with a tape measure.

Start with a 26 or 28 inch cinch; this should be about what your horse needs. (You have a smaller sized horse.)

Before you dirty it or pull the price tags off of it, place in on the saddle billets of your new saddle, and ensure that the cinch rings do not interfere with the horse's "elbows" on either side of the horse. If it doesn't fit, then you can return it for one that does.
In my western book all the photo's show the cinch buckle near the top of the sholder, is that right? Do you mean "elbows"? The cinch rings (the buckles) should come up to just above the elbows; but, should never interfere with them. (The top of the shoulder is the whithers.)

Best regards,
Harry
