Here are some piccies of the gorgeous boy I've fallen in love with. I'm hoping that he'll be on loan sometime next year once he's had some more schooling, but even if he isn't I'll still drool over him and groom him and whisper sweet nothings in his ear:D

He's so fluffy and cuddly, like a big teddybear and he just lurves hugs. He kicks his stable to get your attention and he's very good at grooming me. Sometimes he just puts his cheek against mine and stands there, not rubbing, just snuggling. However I think his favourite hobby is trying to foal-nip my legs and he's fascinated by wellies!

Aww, what a fuzzball.

What's your history with him? Have you ridden him, or just met him and crossing fingers you'll be able to loan him? :)

Phoenix was bought by someone a year ago and put on full livery at the yard I visit. The yard owner has rebacked him then turned him away for a few months. A few weeks ago, the owner decided to hand him over to the yard owner so he's now hers. She's wanting to bring him back, school him and get him prepared for going on loan.

At my first stable management lesson I was shown how to groom him and I fell for the big softy when he put his muzzle on the top of my head as I was crouching down and seemed to go to sleep. I then groomed him loose in the corral a few days later and he started grooming me. So every Saturday I go up and give him a groom. That mane took me ages with detangler as did his very thick tail. The yard owner knows that I'm interested in getting him on loan, but we need to see how he goes. He seemed to have a miserable first 5 years and he's only six, just a baby. If he retrains well then all should be hunky-dory. We hope I will be able to have lessons on him at the yard once he's sorted. At the moment Sp1cer lets me ride hers (the complete star that she is)Until we know whether he'll be OK or not, I'm just happy to cuddle him. If he is unsuitable for loan, I'll still cuddle him!

So, here I am, still terrified of horses, especially on the ground, but I'm going in and grooming this chap. He's 15.2 and chubby and can be a little scary, but I'm getting there. I've taught him to lift his hoof if I gesture and say "Lift". Next trick is to keep it lifted till I pick it out:rolleyes: If he backs his bum into a corner and faces me, I beckon with my index finger and say "Forward" and he will take a single tentative step. Then I give him a pat, step back and do it again, whereupon he comes right up to me and puts his forehead on my chest and just snuggles! He is a darling!:)

Here's a piccie which shows it a bit more. I'm using a Solo comb very slowly just to tidy it up.
