I still don't have anything to give me spine clearance under my Trekker and I wondered if anyone had heard of these or has one?

Even if you haven't, what do you think?

Thanks guys!

Not seen one in the flesh but it looks like it's designed to be pulled up into the gullet of a treed saddle. As such I'd expect it to have a central seam there which could cause problems under the treeless. Can't say for sure though.

You won't get spine clearance under your saddle anyway, the only place it should be a little clear is under the front arch.

Well, actually, that does look a lot like one of the "Skito" pads. Those did do a fair bit in helping out the Bareback treeless to clear the spine (all the way down from front to back). The Bareback's design is very similar to the Trekker and the Torsion etc. I would imagine it would work similarly for any of those.

Thanks both of you.

I shall ask about the central seam.

We aren't having any problems with our gel pad but its not mine and I have to put extra padding to give me decent wither clearance and its such a palava!

I'm seriously considering making my own!!

Looked at the equitex pads when I was at Your Horse live, the lady from Torsion was selling them but one shaped to fit a treeless was £85:eek: Also got may hands on Mattes numnah but they are jsut as expensive. It was good to have a proper look at one though as I've only seen them in pictures.

I read an artical last night about pads and how they spread your weight and Mattes and Polypad came out on top but they also said that a normal numnah was better than a gel pad, lol!

Hey, if you have the skills, go for it! There are a lot of things that are very expensive and still not *quite* what I want...if I had the ability to make my own, I would, I would, I would. (Part of why I got into saddle fitting ;) and repair...) Sewing is unfortunately not one of my talents, though. If I could use glue and duct tape...

Lol! Thats not how you mend your saddles is it?:D

I'm quite nifty with a needle and thread, last week I bid on some patterns for numnahs but lost it at the last minute:mad:

I've bought the gelite pad, I made an offer of £25 as it was listed else where and they excepted. Didn't think that was bad considering the cost of some and I could probably sell it on for the same if it was no good! Shame its not purple though! lol!

Hee hee, no! No, but I just find cloth impossible to work with. It's too soft and fiddly. I've never gotten along with cloth. Leather is so much more pleasant to work with; it's quite straightforward.

If you have an old pad, then you might be able to take it apart to make patterns out of it.

But hey, you've got that one now, neat. :) Maybe you could make a purple cover for it ;)

Oooo, I hadn't thought of that! Its also not going to come far enough down the sides of the saddle so I was thinking of modifying it slightly anyway!

I will let you know what its like when I get it.

Happy sticking! lol!
