Well I was finally able to get my horse! I have been riding one of my boyfriends parents horse that they are trying to sell and he is such a love, great disposition, and very gently. He is a 4 yo Paint. Well we got our house with 5 acres and the house is right down the road from his parents. My boyfriend knew how much I wanted Sunny but couldn't afford $2800. So last night when he was visiting them talking about the horses his parents actually brought it up us buying him so they worked out a deal money wise to make payments to them and lowered the price to $1500 and said they would keep him until we got the barn and pasture finished! I am so excited!

Here is a picture of him. This is the only one I have right now. That is his little sister holding him.

What a gorgeous hunk of horse he is! Gotta love those muscly paint rumps. He certainly doesn't look like a $1500 horse.

Tell us more about him. He looks huge. How tall his he? Does he have a name yet?

His name is Sunny, although I am not particuarly fond of Sunny but I don't know how well he would do changing his name. He is 4 year old and my boyfriend and him measured him at about 15.2hh. He does move off of leg cues and neck reins but he does need some work with the neck reining. He doesn't get ridden very often but since we are going to live 5 minutes from him I can work with him more often. He is a great horse, very very patient. He does trailer, he stands well for grooming and lets you pick his feet but you know he just tolerates it. But I think he has great potential. I would love to sometime have him and me trained in maybe barrel racing just for fun, I love the team penning sport but seeing as I don't have any livestock to work with that will probably be out of the picture.
He came from a ranch and is branded but I will have to check into the brand right now I can't remember off of the top of my head. My boyfriends parents got him at an auction in Missouri and said he was a ranch horse but I would think he couldn't of worked that long as he is only 4 but he is wonderfully sweet, gentle and very tolerant. I can't wait to take him home. I will post some more pictures as soon as I get some.
