I'm going to my and Max's first SJ competition on Friday. Is it ok if I wear beige jodhpurs, a white shirt and body protector, or do I need a black jacket as well? I would really rather not get one, since I get very hot!
Please reply...I'm in a bit of a stress about it!
Thanks :)

if its show jumping, no one cares, or if they do they should keep their opinions to themselves.

if you are doing anything besides that (hunter, equitation etc.)you would need a show jacket.

Thank you fantastic people! :D :D
I'm only doing showjumping, and the smallest class just to see what he's like at shows.
I know what you mean about Patchetts Julia, they always seem to be doing dressage or showjumping competitions. My friend went dressaging there today!
I'm going to Trent Park Equestrian, over near Cockfosters.

I've just read your thread, and so you can jump :p
You should do it, bet angel would enjoy it.

(I'm only doing this show for Max, given half a chance I wouldn't enter, but he does like to do interesting things!)

Ps I free schooled him over a 3' 6 jump today, he was flying! Pity I don't jump that height! It was almost as big as him.

Just ask the Judges before you jump, say you dont have a jacket but you have a smart jumper.
You are ment to whear jackets unless the judges say you can take them off.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Yes you do really have to wear a jacket unless you get permission from the judge.

Good luck.

In showjumping, under BSJA rules you do have to wear a jacket. However in riding club and pony club shows you can get away with wearing the clubs jumper and tie.

By the way, alwaysfallingoff, how often do you go to trent park (or hae been going to trent park) cos I bought both my horses there, a 13 hand grey called silver and a 15.2 bay called Foxy. Did you know them?

Colouredcrazy, its my first time going there on Friday, so I don't really know any of the horses. I know someone who goes there regularly though, I'll mention them to her. :)

Thats really sweet of you Colorado Sunset, but I decided to go shopping today, so have bought one of my own! I eventually thought that the chances that he'll misbehave so badly that I'll never want to compete him again are very small, so its an investment!

Thanks everyone for all the good luck, I'm going to need it!

Hehe, I'm SO excited, can't wait...going to be a nervous wreck by the end of the week!

Ok, thanks!
What type of jacket is it? Trent Parks arenas are really nice, the surface is so easy to ride in, it gives ponies extra boing I think (Silver hasn't gone anywhere near four feet since i tried him!)
Good luck!
