Gave Penny's back legs a good wash on saturday - started with fairy liquid, to clean out all the cream and oil that I had put on the other day, and then gave them a scrub with diluted hibiscrub. I also found some mite/flea spray that I put on, and I also covered her scabs with sudacream.
I have ordered some pig oil and flower of sulphur powder, but she seemed an awful lot happier - and on sunday she didn't stomp at all. She was stood around for an hour with the farrier - and we also went out for a ride.
I hope she is on the road to recovery!
The more I wonder if it is mud fever on her legs and not mites - although she has none within her feathers on her heels - I suppose the traditional place to get scabs!
