I've just typed this all out and I'm well narked 'cos I lost it all!!!
Anyway, in brief OH says he'll buy me decent numnah to go under Trekker, I don't want the Trekker one its too big so how about the torsion wool one or Equitex? What do you all think?

I like the equitex, I got a look at one at your horse but is wool better at distributing your weight? I've emailed Torsion for some more details.

Does your Trekker saddle have spine clearance?
I ask this as my Freeform doesn't, and so any numnah I have to go under it can't have a seam down the spine. That eliminates pretty much any normal numnah. Don't know if it's the same for you, but I've found it pretty difficult to find a numnah to go under the Freeform except the ones they sell specifically for it.

With the SBS it is advisable to use a 'high wither' nummah, like Nuumed's, or alternatively ome of the Polypads (Pod) range. Better Saddles have a good range of nummahs for treeless saddles, including Nuuned and Bartl sheepspad.

Cazrider: No it doesn't have spine clearance so I have the same problem as you. I don't think the Torsion does either, thats why I was looking at their numnahs. What are the freeform numnahs like?
Chapsi. I will have a look at better saddles, although my saddle is nothing like the SBS (I wish but ££££££! )
Thanks both of you

Hi Drummers mum
Try the following website,
http://www.goldfinch-endurance.co.uk/freeform.html
This is where I found my saddle, and it gives numnah details. They are £47. Mine's fine. I just had a look and they do them in all different colours now. It used to be black or black!

I recently bought an Equitex numnah off Ebay to go under my Fitform when the Fitform numnah is off for cleaning. It looks gorgeous, but I've yet to ride in it...
www.gotreeless.com has LOADS of numnah suggestions...

Was it you?!!! Pipped me to the post with buy it now? Lol!!
I spoke to the lady from Torsion and she highly recommends the Equitex even though I've got a Trekker! She said NEVER use a gel pad cos' they don't breath.
Go on then go try out your Equitex and let me know how it goes!!
That site is brill but I can't find most of those pads in England! I like the Mattes one with shims but its over £100, don't think the OH would like that!
Thanks for the link cazrider, I couldn't find the site!
Just to confuse matters the lady from Horse and Harmony (where I bought Trekker) mailed me back with details of the grandeur (made for the Barefoot) but I don't think the quality is as good.

That's bizarre, Drummer's mum as I've just clicked on it again and it came straight up.

Do you want to try again?
Like you, I'd love a spare numnah. Any ideas that you can get in England?

I have the barefoot treeless, likewise the grandeur pad was too long but it was very very nice! I ended up buying a skito pad from the US as they made it to fit my saddle (i have the kids size 0) It was about £125 inc shipping and paying tax ect when it arrived, but its gorgeous!

hello!
The granduer pad (I think thats how you spell it) is on the actual trekker site. If you type in randoll treeless saddle the site may come up.
I have a wintec comfort pad under my trekker, it gives spine clearance and the horses seem alright with it. I have the front riser version but you can get a normal one. Plus they are only 19.99! For numnahs I have a throwgood warmblood conform saddlecloth and a griffen high wither everyday saddlecloth, im looking at the griffen endurance numnahs tho because they are they same shape as the treeless (well they look it!)

Thanks everyone, I have taken the plunge and ordered an Equitex (not my bank balance, lol!)
Still want to know what its like though showjumper.
No_Angel: I've looked at all the pads I can. At the moment I'm using a Gelite pad which has a spine channel and a poly pad type cloth. I wanted something a bit thicker though and something all in one, I'm fed up with fiddling around and things slipping as I do the girth up:mad: The wintec comfort sounds good though, does the front riser give you better wither clearance too? Are you riding in your Trekker all the time now? I rode in my old saddle just for a lark and it was soooo uncomfortable!
Deffed out the Grandeur as its not real wool (and at that price!! )
Galadriel said about skito but as I couldn't find them in the UK I gave up!
cazrider, I got on in the end, must have been me!:o

Hi, yes the comfort pad gives better wither clearance. I use it on all three of my horses now, ive just accqured an ex racer if you hadn't heard, she has the typical high tb withers and it fits her fine, I also use it on murphy who has no withers and it also fits him fine, he feels a little down hill with no pads so the comfort pad lifts it up a bit.
I have added knee rolls to my trekker now (pm if you want to know more about it, just incase I have to patent my idea!lol!), as new horse is a bit joggy and we are going to start doing more jumping. They work as I was jumping murphy the other day, only 2'3 but may go hunting with my new horse in it so will let you know how it goes.
Oh and apparently the trekker with its set back stirrup rings recks your jumping position! I feel safer tho! lol!

How did you manage to get knee rolls on your treeless Trekker?
And does the comfort pad help keep what ever pad you are using from laying flat on the withers? Do you put the comfort pad between saddle and saddle pad or directly on your horses back?

Hi hippophile, I used the numnah then the confort pad. I also now use either a prolite front rider or a shires shock absorbing saddle pad (same as prolite except a bit heavier and costs alot less £15.99 i think) and use it teh same way, but there wouldnt be a problem using the pad under the numnah, although it would get dirty. I hate cleaning things so I just keep changing my numnah till their all dirty-lol :D
Pm me if you want to know the details of the knee rolls, although I found then not as secure as I liked, but did try and rectify this.
