Hi Christy!
Well, the doc was out of town, so she is suppose to have gotten a hold of him today. It has been raining horses & cows here:D
This morning it snowed a bit (and I'm in Southern Calif). So I am figuring soon. She emailed me and apologized about taking so long. Maybe this week. I wish it would hurry so I can move forward if I have to. When it rains here the roads get undrivable. I'll let you know what happens.

Update!:D
I spoke to the breeder last night and she made an appoitment with a Doctor Hilton. He is a breed specialist. Tennessee Walkers. He was on vacation so he was backed up. The appt. is Jan 17th at 2:00
I guess I've waited this long. This is a link to her website. She has several horses for sale. Two of the ones listed are TW that are coming from out of state. They are a bit expensive for me.
Sunday, my husband & I drove down the road trying to find a ranch that has over 75 horses for sale. Talk about the boonies! The address they gave did not match the numbers on that road, we turned around wondering if we were losing it. The road disappeared into the mountains...around the bend...my tires on my little hyundai were crying...rocky and washed out road,...finally we drove back home, called them back, asked, "where the heck are you?' Dum...dum...dee...dum...oh, take the dirt road all the way to the end. DUH! why didn't they say that in the first place,. So we torture my little car some more by driving back...down the dirt road...over rock...washed away road...then come to a fork...the left road is pure rock, screaming to be driven by a 4X. So it couldn't possibly be that way, it looks as though it has never been driven. So we take the right road. We go down a bit and at the end is a home, and a lady is taking her horse out of the corral. Now remember...this ranch is suppose to be huge, arena...pasture...stalls,indoor arena too. All we see is this lady with her horse. She stops have way out & turns to us. Just standing there. Watching. Flashes of Chainsaw Massacre flash through my head. We drive any closer, she's going to go grab her shotgun. That's the feeling we get. We decide to turn around and go home.
I was so mad. If this place is that hard to find. Don't you think somebody would have said something. You Think? Anyway that was my sunday adventure. Maybe I'll try it again another day:D
Sorry to bore you with my tales of woe!:)

So is your potential horse Dulce Amor or CC?
If it's CC how come you didn't like Dulce Amor? Dulce sounds very nice and affordable!

correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought that the one you were looking at is NOT one of the horses on the website?
And Melissa, wasn't boring at all actually, it was quite amusing!! had a little giggle!! I actually did that when i was looking for the stable i was going to board my horse at before I brought her to school. Stopped at the wrong one first, then drove right past the right one
I'd keep lookin though, cause when i finally did find the yard, it turned out to be a great one! ;) :D
Good of you to update us, keep it up! Will be crossing my fingers for you!

The horse is CC. I don't know what that stands for. She had him listed originally because she did not know for a fact if I wanted him.
Dulce Amor is 22 years old and basically she said he is good for a couple of more breedings. He was her husbands horse, he was a show horse but he is very tempermental. He only likes men. and he's very picky about which ones. The few at the bottom of the list are her own personal ones and she will be very picky as to what homes the will go to. She also said that if he did not feel like trail riding, he would lie down, saddle and all and it was real fun to try to get him back up. The only thing I questioned was in the ad for him she put beginner okay. I would not buy that horse because of what she says about him.
The Walker I'm interested in is $3600.00. My limit was about $5,000.00. We'll see what happens. The well trained older horses can run even more than that. I am finding that TW are going between 5000.00 and 8000.00 as an average.
check out this horse. Beautiful!

Yes, how odd! The ad made him sound like he would be wonderful for beginners!

yeah Karin, I thought that was odd too. Most people use the word experienced rider. The only thing I thought is that last line that says he is suitable....etc was on a few of her ads. Maybe she automatically puts that in.
I keep wondering if I am making the right decision. If things don't work out I may look on my own and board my horse at this place while I am taking lessons with him.

I think I mentioned before that they specialize in the beginner rider.
