I might be moving stables to go somewhere that does shows and jumping and dressage!!!!! im SO excited! lol! has any one got any tips for what i should do:
1) stay at my current stables where i loan i pony that is half asleep the whole time but it absoloubtly lovely!
2) move to this other stables where i will learn to jump, go on REALLY long hacks (like 2 hours!), do dressage and do shows and pony club camps and everything!
I dunno cos i really love Strida (the horse i loan) but then id really love to move on and learn new stuff!
Please give me some advice,

If you feel confident and ready to do all the new stuff, then go ahead and do it. Everyone has to move on in riding - it's the way you learn new and better things. Once you have leant the basics and feel ready to do other things, there is no point in standing still. Bear in mind tho that the grass is not always greener on the other side! Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Can you give the new yard a trial run for several months and still stay at your old one? If so do this and see which one then suits you the best. A friend of mine had to leave her old yard and thought she would come to where I livery my ponies, but went to another one instead, thinking she may regret her decision. But it has turned out to be for the best because she has time to ride during the day - which most of them do on her yard she has plenty of people to hack out with etc, whereas at my yard most people ride in the evening and weekends, so she would not have as many people to ride out with during the day, when she has most time.
Good luck and enjoy yourself.

Moving for a trial run is, I'm afraid, a bit like taking the **** out of people. Before you move, I suggest you investigate thoroughly the new yard you intend moving to. Weigh up all the pros and cons, then make a mature decision which one your horse will stay at. I've mesed a few yards about in my time, much to my disadvantage - still that's another story. Word soon spreads as the horse world is in reality a very small one!
