heya,

Just wanted to say I am fed up of people telling me what horse I 'should and shouldnt get'.

Right this girl from the yard texts me asking if Ive given up riding. So i reply 'no of course not, why?' anyway she woffles on about a horse she is getting and about how its really good at dressage and does it profesionaly then about how it has a big jump. So I decided to be very nice and say aww thats nice I hope it all workd out. Then comes the nex catch (knew she wouldnt be texting me for kno reason as she made it clear to me what she thinks of me in the past). So she starts blabing about how before she gets it she needs a sharer. To be honest I would have prefered it if she could have acturlly asked not gone on about the whole thing would have made life abit simpler so I tell her about how I am looking for a horse/pony that isnt the nicest but I can work with and build up a trust.
So she asks if ive found one and I say no exactly but I have left a message with someone who has a pony that needs handling and that and abit like George soo as you all guessed it comes out that 'why do you want a horse like George he was aggresive'. I mearly point out that he wasnt he just needed someone to trust.

So the smart arsed girl decided to send me anouther saying that everytime he bite me or put his ears back I would cry. To be honest this really did make me angry. He has never acturly biten me he has tryed to so I said this to her and pointed out that if I had cryed everytime he put his ears back I think I would have died with lack of water in my body.

Anyway the next is 'oh noone likes you,you will never find a pony that likes you'. How do you now George trusted you did he tell you!!!!!!!!!. So very politly I sent her a message saying that he is the kind of pony I like to be with and that we all have our own desicions in life about what we like and dislike. Also adding that he came cantering up to me in the field calling, everytime he saw me he would call to me. I could sit on his back in the stable whilst he was lying down. I did trellis in his maine and what not.

Obviously she wasnt expecting this and has a massive go at me clearly telling me that the kind of horses I go for should be allowed down there as its to expensive for them.

I am very sorry but I found this soo rude and upsetting. Just because clearly I had different opinions on what I was looking for and I wasnt going to share her horse that she 'may' be getting.
George ment alot to me and thats what kind of horses I am looking for so now I have decided that maybe a small grass livery place is the answer for me. Or if not a different place.

Am I the only one to find this very rude??
P.s: a piccys of George with his ears back and Im sorry but I seem to be able to take a piccy of him like this and if what she did say is true about me crying I think i would have been to histerical to of done it.

Don't worry about it hu, Bramble was very much the same as George and is only just starting to come around now, although she - much to my detriment - does not run up to the gate for me

it sounds like she was being very childish, o doubt she is the sort to buy the readymade horse because mummy and daddy can afford it rather than because it is what she wants or the sort that will be overhorsed on a pony  :D

I still swear if I lent Bramble out to these people if even just for a week they would send her back asap and would never question the skill it takes to handle a "little" pony.

My YO underestimated Bramble and got kicked, one of the liveries is too nervous and Bramble tries to it her, she'll try it on with me but does get a firm slap if she is really being bolshy, what is it they say the big ones are sometimes less quick thinking?......

thanx,

At the momment I am half trying to decide what to do.
I must admit I love the yard im at but to be honest if people are going to doubt me so much (so far all 11people I have told have disagreed) I think I may go somewer else.

I think that a smaller place would be alot nicer (not that I dont like were I am coz its ace) But I mean there are probably more people that understand what I am looking for and will help me out. A smaller yard would probably not have what I am use to (2 x indoor one large and one smaller and 2x outdoor one is massive and the other is smaller) but to me being ahppy is more important. I use to be very very into jumping but that is still there but not as much. Me and my dad went on a walk for three hours yesterday and to be honest I would love the quietness.

I would probably get along much better at school (I use to love sitting with george for hours but didnt have enough time as school work) there would be hardly anyone to distract me. It will probably be nicer for my parents as my mum is keen on taking up riding afta a ride on George she is liking horses more and the stables im at most people get on and thrash about in the schools needless to say about others there.

Yes there may be more people to help out but I dont think I will need alot of help (trying not to sound stuck up) just that I have a brother who is very into riding and started to love George and needless to say his confidence has grown to.

If I do find the right horse they may like a quiter yard better aswell.

Sorry to blab I just need to let it out and see if it makes sense to you aswell.

She was probably upset that you weren't interested in sharing but she shouldn't have said what she did.

Just ignore her, she doesn't know what she's talking about.

Firstly there's no shame in crying, you went back didn't you ? He trusted you and that's all that was important. George enjoyed testing boundaries and as a lot of people there were frightened of him he got away with a lot. Not many people understood what he was really like.

You enjoyed working with him through his problems and you understand that having a horse is much more than just jumping or thrashing round the fields, schooling endlessly. It's about the relationship you have with each other, the partnership.

What ? is this girl on about !!! seems to me you should stay at the yard where you are happy & just ignore this airhead. good luck rrx
ps at my yard we have an almost unwritten rule that people are never rude bout other folks horses or ponies. We all try & be supportive to each other. Its a shame that there seems to be this one bad apple at yours. Take care rrx

Sounds to me that there's a little jealousy inside of her in the way you and George were close, not to mention that she's probably a little p*++?d off that you weren't interested in sharing.:o :D
Will she not be getting the horse if you don't share with her then?
What a very childish girl she must be to make comments like that, ignore her she's obviously not worth wasting your time over, besides you can always come on here and we'll blow sunshine up your bum to make you feel good!:D :D :D

How dare she!!! Let me at her Rach!!!!:D

I'd agree that there is a bit of jealousy going on there, she can only handle a nice expensive "push button" pony if you can help her out whereas you're going to get something that needs you and will end up with a fab relationship that is just between you and your horse.

Will keep my eyes and ears open for any horses that would need you!!!

If she is being such a cow and bitch why bother replying to her text messages - surely you don't have that much money to spend of useless texts to reply to her. Let her stew on her own - if you wanted to you to share now would you? Just erase her texts and get on with your own thing!!!
