Nearly forgot to tell you all that on Thursday I received a letter from Baileys saying that I hadn't been chosen for the pony make over! I'd love to know who was!!

Anyway, they sent me a green sweater, a yellow fitted polo shirt and a lead rope, all with Baileys slapped across them, plus a voucher for a bag of food:D The clothes are ace for up the yard and fit perfectly, so I'm still happy!:D Never usually win anything so....................:D

Congratulations on winning those bits. Drummer didn't need a makeover anyway - he's lovely as he is!

On the subjct of winning things, I actually have quite a knack for it! I won my first ever pair of Jodhpurs from Mountain Horse. And I also keep winning signed Football shirts from Manchester United, because I've got a bank account with them, and you automatically get enterred into a proze draw monthly. So far they've sent 3 signed shirts and 3 limited-edition prints! Crazy, but great :D

On the subject of winning. We entered my 14.2 cob into a Family Mount competition at local show two years ago, he was being ridden by a 9 year old, my older teenager and me who is 40 something, also my son and hubby rode him around the yard. So a real family mount. Did he win - No!! But at 11.2 pony did and the judge had the audacity to tell us she place this little cute pony first because she knew him. If I knew I had to know the judge I would never have entered!!! I must say the pony was very cute and well turned out - but hardly a family mount!!! Needless to say did not leave with sour grapes as we still felt we had the best horse there at the show - despite others opinions, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder!!!

Talking about winning things, my daughter is the one. We were on our way to the HOYs in october last year and on the coach you had to buy a raffle ticket. The first prize was £70 2nd £40 and 3rd £20. As the tickets were being sold I said, "I don't know why I bother because Terri always wins something," Gues what. she got the first prize = £70. with her spending money she had approxiamately £120. More than me!

i never win anything :( my pony was such a little sh*t that we very rarely got round a course of showjumps. my sister is much luckier than me. she entered an equitation class at our anual PC show and when it came to her individual show, Bonnie exploded out of the line up like she'd a rocket up her backside! sis managed to regain control, put on a decent show and won the class for her skill in controlling a nutty pony! you should have heard the barage of abuse she got from other competitors mums as she left the arena coz their little darlings didn't win. still makes me mad thinking about that

I always used to win the random prize for being a 'good sportsman' at Pony Club - ie you lost badly everytime but did it with good grace :D Usually pony had decided halfway through that dressage was boring and jumped out of the arena..or that galloping off across the field was much more fun than gymkhana games :o :D It wasn't until I started driving the shetlands that I won any 'proper' prizes :)

At least you got some freebies out of it Drummer's mum :D Definiately worth entering ;)

The only class my cob Molly could go into was Prettiest Mare, so we got her nice and clean, trimmed her tail, did her mane nicely and took her there.

The horse that one it was a young show horse - gaining experience before going onto the Royal! Not exactly fair competition when the rest of us really were the tail end charlies whose ponies weren't good enough for ridden classes etc.

Even in the coloured horse classes, I found that they tended to favour the coloured x types ie. the lighter made ones, rather than my totally traditional cob, who is well put together and pretty but of course isnt a coloured arab x or warmblood or tbx. Found it a bit disheartening and this was at very local show level only.
