I know a number of people bought FalPro Slumberdown rugs for the winter. Do any of you have any progress reports? Likes/dislikes? Would you buy another one?
I'm thinking of getting one as a backup (now they're coming into sales), but it would be nice to know how they've fared a couple of months hard use :)

i have the heavyweight turnout and neck hood. my boy loves it as it keeps him cosy and dry. its stood up well to a few months of daily turnout. if he was staying out at night i'd probably put his "proper" fal on him coz my only gripe about the slumberdowns is they don't have quite enough depth for my cob. but i'd definately reccomend them, they are cheap (even outwith the sales) and are better value for money than weatherbeetas :)

I have the godolphin stable rug and the viking outdoor rug both of which are excellent quality. The best thing about them is that they seem to stay quite clean - the lining is really unusual and doesnt seem to pick up dirt and smells. Both of mine have had hard use and havent yet had them cleaned (after 2 years:eek: ) but to be honest they just dont need it yet.

I have the lightweight version on my heavyweight cob - mainly to keep her clean and dry. I am very pleased with it, these rugs seem to fit the broader horse well - the neck measured a lot bigger than my weatherbeeta rugs that are on my others.

Thanks - we've got a 40gm Crusader and a 200gm Warrior for Fifi already that we're very happy with. Would agree that they fit extremely well. I've also never seen one look twisted on her for more than a couple of strides, if that :).
It was really to know how the Slumberdown's get on - I know they're not made by Fal directly and so was wondering if the quality had been compromised. Sounds like they're still good rugs :D

i was dubious about their quality aswell coz i've always stuck with Fals (my boy has a whole Fal wardrobe!) but they are fab :D a tough outer, very, very cosy, especially if you add the neck hood. my boy is quite a chunky cob and the neck hood fits him perfectly. the front fastenings can be a little fiddly to do up but if you find on in the sale then go for it. they are great rugs :)
