I've never used it with horses, only myself. But I can't see why it wouldn't be able to be used on a horse. I don't believe it is toxic or has any side effects. But I'm not sure what the corect dosage would be. It helps to boost the immune system so I think it would be useful if your horse was to come into contact with viral/bacterial infections.

One warning, I don't know if its the same in horses but in humans you can't take it every day, you can take it a few days, and then a few more days off, and so on.

Yes, most herbal treaments need days of rest.

Some herbs that are fine for humans are toxic to horses, some should not be given long-term. Here's a list: Equine Herbalist (http://www.equineherbalist.co.uk/research.htm)

You can buy echinacea for horses and it tells you the 'dosage' on the bottle (can't remember who makes it though!

I'm using Sarc-Ex at the moment which is specifically for sarcoids, lumps and bumps. I'm also using 'Restore' which is a detox supplement. (Both by Global Herbs).

I can't say whether it was the Knottenbelt treatment (which finished at the beginning of December, the Sarc-Ex or a combination but the sarcoid was still there alive and well a week ago, at the weekend it was a bit ragged and at the beginning of the week it had dropped off.

Echinacea isn't supposed to be suitable for sarcoids so it depends really on what you are wanting immune support for.

I got a bottle from the local tack shop a while ago- I think it was about £20 for a litre? I think it's a N.A.F. product but I can't be sure.

Yes you do only feed for a short time- like cough mixture really. When they get down, feed it for a few days and they should improve.

I can recommend it- when my boy seems to be grumpy, and not interested in work he has some.

It's worth mentioning I did have the vet check him out before I used it to make sure I wasn't missing anything more serious.
