When I lunge my horse she rushes/runs on the left rein only for the first 3-4 circles before settleing down into a proper trot. Sometimes it can go on for longer sometimes just 1-2 circles this really depends on how fresh she is, but why just the left rein. The other strange thing she does is if you don't keep a close eye on her on the right rein she will whip round and run off on the left rein. She never runs on the right but is quite happy to whip round and run on the left.

I have tried several different ways around this to try and out wit her by putting her on the right rein first when she is at her freshest also tried to keep her in walk for a while longer but she is always keen to take off and run before I can stop her. If I get mad at her she panics and goes even faster. But if talk to her really quietly to calm her she will respond much much quicker.

It sounds like she is just more unbalanced on the one rein. So she will rush on the rein she is most unbalanced on and then turn around to go on the rein she is happiest on.

Or she could be happier on that rein and just excited

either way I would work her over some well placed trotting poles to improve her balance or give her something to think about so she doesn't just rush off

mmmm but in this case she will turn to run on the unbalanced side rather than the balanced side.
