I overheard my instructor talking to someone new at the yard last week. She was talking about me and Spirit. I only heard the last bit, she said that we were her greatest acheivement! So I don't know whether to be distressed because we were so crap when we first started or pleased that she is so impressed with us??? I am trying to look on the bright side - that she is pleased with our progress! I think that it should be good that she points us out as an example of her success. Hope she points out how hard we worked too!

I'd be beaming from ear to ear! Credit to you! Everyone has to start somewhere, and your idea of crap is probably very different to someone elses. Well done!

Knowing Spirit he was probably after Duke's tea! but I'm sure he hasn't missed me as much as I've missed him. Can't wait till I can ride tomorrow, got a lesson at 10. :D :D :D

I would be over the moon if I were you. My previous instructor didn't think I had the confidence to own another horse after my first disaster. Anyway good job I didn't pay any attention as I bought Captain and we are getting on soooo well. I love him to bits. :D

Well she did say she wasn't sure if she could do anything with us when I had my first lesson it was that bad - moral of the story is - don't despair however bad it gets! He nearly went to the meat man a few times when I first had him and I had to think hard if he was right for me but all the patience and hard work has paid off.
She said in my lesson today he is very clever and often too clever!! In my last lesson she said to lighten him off before canter, now by this lesson he is trying so hard he goes to canter when I lighten him without any other aids! Anticipating me all the time! Now haave to practise lightening whilst staying in trot - one step forward one step back!!

i know what you mean...on the horse i am giving u i have improved so much, i cant even believe they let me ride her at first, but my instructor a few weeks back suggested i had been riding her for 2 years rather than half that due to how much i have improved...how awful must i haev been to statrt off with...
well done though, improving your riding by that much for her to be s prous of you is a real acheivement, keep up the good work!

Definitely take it as a compliment. I dread to think what my instructors say about me behind my back!
