I thought I'd share in an amazing experience I had last weekend. As you know Heather was in Portugal last week and I was lucky enough to be able to go and meet her. We went to Luis's where Heather rides and I thought I'd died and gone to horsey heaven :) !! The lusitano's were incredibly noble and oozed presence I coveted every single one of them but fell in love with a particular Bay that moved as if he was on air, he was so light.
I was lucky enough to be able to watch Heather ride (to be honest she just looks as if she's sitting there doing nothing - I only reach this stage in day dreams and even then I'm not that good..he..he!!) Luis would cry out "flying change" and as he was just finishing the word "change" the horse had changed, and again and again... talk about poetry in motion - incredible !
I also watched Luis long reining a magnificent white stallion. To watch Luis at work is an honour, he gently worked the horse and performed half pass at trot and piaffe on the long reins.
And to round off the perfect day, Pedro our Chronicles of a New Rider came to join us for dinner... at last met him in person. He has an open invitation to come and visit up North ! :)
It was a day that will stay with me forever.
