I really want to get some formal qualifications so I can teach riding.

I know that one way is to do BHS 1 and 2 then then the prelim teaching, but are there other ways that I can go about getting the quali?

I'd really like some advice

my YO a dn instructor is a bit out of the loop regarding current training.

any help appreciated

presume you mean the BHSAI and II etc? if so, you can do either stages or NVQs to take your PTT.
thereare also (i think) ABRS teaching ewxams, but they're not as widely recognised. thereare also RWYM accreditations, and the parelli instructing thijngs (don't know the proper name for them) and i think the CRC has some too?

the BHS ones are the most widely recognised though, if you're not a specialist in something then threy're your best bet.

and the parelli instructing thijngs (don't know the proper name for them)

You mean "Equine Ethology" :D

I think the recent changes mean there are 2 possible routes here - one is through the more general "Equine Ethology" and one is Parelli only. But I could be wrong and we could just have Equine Ethology now...

either way, tis not cheap.

There is talk of having multiple centres for "Equine Ethology" in UK, but goodness knows where they'll be.

I think Warwickshire may be doing something on Equine Ethology ?

Thanks for advice

I think I'm going to doing my stages and then PTT as it's most recognisable. feel a bit silly as not a 16 year old going for it, but I love teaching.

Though I follow and teach a holistic apporach at mo (empathic horsemanship??) , I want a Quali which is accessable and recognised so I can use it reach the most people and still have some credablity amoungst the traditionalists.

I'd like to carry on as I am. but insurance is essential nowadays! so I'm being safe.

Thanks
