Hey there, I have 3 horses, a 14.2 cob type (phoenix) who we think is in his 30's (we got him as a rescue case) hes now retired.
I also have Qaboos a 6 year old 15.1 Arab X Tb, bay with 4 white socks and a blaze, hes a real pretty boy but a complete loon - I would say he has the typical worst parts of both the arab and Tb. None the less hes my baby and I love him dearly, hes an allrounder and we dabble in western games but primarly I compete in pleasure, reining (very novice) and cattle classes.
And last but not least I have Jess a QH X Paint/tb, she is chesnut with two socks (back) and a little star. Shes a real pretty girl and I will train her to rein. She is not yet 2 so we have got a while to wait until we see about that though.
I cant post pictures as I'm at work but will try to add them later (but I warn you now I have had problems trying to get pictres on here)

Hello
Here's my 1/2 a Quarter Horse (if my photo appears), I always confuse my family by saying that. She's 3 yrs and her dad is a foundation QH and her mum is a British native of some sort which I know nothing about.
I've owned her for 9 months and she will be western trained but I'm preparing her for riding at the moment and trying to get a decent saddle.
She is extremely clever which is a good thing and a bad thing, and also very bossy - if she's going across the field the other mares have to go with her whether they like it or not!
She is very like her sire (Lunar Lucre) especially in colour but she has an increadible long mane which I'm sure she gets from her mum. She is beautiful but obviously I am biased.
I can't wait to start riding her I'm just not sure whether to leave it until after my wedding incase I end up with broken limbs :p

I only have one horse and he rides western. His name is Ranger and he is about 17 at the moment. I just hack and trail ride him. Hes a quarter horse. His color is a buckskin. He spends his day out with cows and I take him into his special pen for nights. He has his days as I would say, even for a gelding :D . Some days he loves to get out and go, and other days he is a pain to ride. And I would like to add he loves his sweet feed ! :)

I too am at work and can't post a pic of my girl :(
But I did want to say that all of the horses are very pretty.
I ride a breeding stock paint. She is 1/2 OH ( Impressive / obvious conclusion)
on her daddys side and Paint on her moms ( Tuffs bright ) , they were going for a halter paint and she came out lookin like a good old OH , sorrel and a big butt :D
Good for me though as she is a very nice mare.

You guys all have beautiful horses. I don't have many pictures of my horses yet, but the first two are me and Lucky, my barrel horse, he's a 6 year old palomino QH. He's a wonderful horse, if I may say so myself. :D The third one is me and Dobber (affectionately called D) , he's a 7 year old bay QH (although he looks like he might have a bit of Arab in him) He technically belongs to my dad, but I ride him alot. Well that's all the pictures I have for now, but as soon as I get more, I will post them. :)

This is Win A Snip, aka Sugar, my 19 year old Quarter Horse mare. She's a liver chestnut roan, 14.2hh. She was shown in western pleasure back when she was about 6-8. She is foundation bred and has had six wonderful foals - four red roan colts by a sorrel Quarter Horse stallion, one sorrel overo filly by a Paint stallion, and one red roan filly by a Thoroughbred stallion.
We don't compete, but do western ring work as well as a lot of trailriding.

I have a 2 1/2 (almost 3 in May) year old, Standardbred/Foxtrotter mix bay in color. She is the sweetest 2 year old that anyone could come across. I haven't pushed her but she does have some speed on her. Can't wait until she turns 5 so I can see what she has! :D We did barrels for the first time last year and have been recently practicing. If I can get her first barrel down we will do VERY well. My husband bought her for me when he came home from Iraq on his two week R&R leave. Very nice surprise. You can see pictures of her at http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/amattox3@sbcglobal.net/my_photos. Hope you enjoy!!

K & K your pony looks like it has rabicano colouring rather than roan. Do you have any other pics? Does he/ she have quite a bit of white at the top of the tail??
K&K
26th Mar 2005, 02:27 AM
Hi Nicole,
Sugar does carry the rabicano modifier but she also is a true roan. She's had 5 foals by bay and chestnut sires who all came out very loud red roans. :)

Hey! Gorgeous horses everyone!!! Here are some pictures of western horses that I ride:
Here is TJ a 16 year old paint gelding. He was used as a stud until he was 7 then he was gelded, and he was shown during that time too. He has some great gaits!

Sterling was my western horse. We did horsemanship, sidesaddle, medals, and pleasure. With him we showed 4-H, Zone, Regionally and Nationally on the breed circuit. I don't think that I haveany pics of us winning at Nationals or Regionals on my computer though. I do have one of my old mare BJ and I going Top Ten at Nationals back in 1999. I'll see if I can find it in the next couple of days :)

Wish I had pictures, I will have to find some and upload!!
WFR Quincy Lad is a great-grandson of Quincy Dan... his dam is nothing special but both sets of grandparents have good cowy lines. He is pure QH,a sorrel horse with a white star.
We call him Quincy or Quince, he's about 15 hands and solid stocky horse (kind of fat!!) I could guess at his weight and put him at or around 1200 - 1250 lbs.
Quince has a great big solid back end, smaller withers, and a short, thick neck. We keep his mane roached because no matter what I do, I can't seem to grow it, or make it look right (and I am really sick of trying to band him!)
He has only basic training and no specialization, but in 6 months has learned how to chase steers, isn't rope shy or box shy, loads like a prince, and acts like a complete spoiled brat. He is the most emotional and "mare-ish" gelding I've ever seen. But we have come a long way together and I'm really proud of both of us!

LOL - I was riding in our arena at the weekend and a cow in the field next to us decided to "lope" straight towards us - Fi nearly wet herself ! (But noteably did NOT spin and run - a real breakthrough !). Some cow horse tho'
The cow then settled down for a sleep in the same spot - which it seems is ok.
p.s. i say a "cow" - its actually one of last years calves so not exactly intimidating

He's just 2.5 years old and is a complete darling! This past weekend I started neck-rein training on him... I think he's going to catch on pretty quick. Right now he's being used as a trail horse at the stables i work at. Only us girls who work there ride him during the trails, and he's doing great. Doesn't spook over anything!!! Saturday he taught himself how to unlatch and open the gate. All of a sudden I turned around and there he was, waiting for some attention!!!!!

Shady Bar Sundance, AKA Sebastian is my 7 year old Quarter Horse Gelding. I bought him July 1st of last year(well my mom and aunt did..)He used to leive with my cousin and we both were riders so we shared him. We went through alot mvoed barns then came this summer. Welp my Aunt and cousin moved..and we had to descions, sell sebastian or send him to Florida with my cousin. We wouldnt be able to pay for board but my Cousin Jill worked at a barn and could get my cousin a job, so my aunt would be able to pay board, which was already cheaper down there. So he lives in FL now and i am going down in July to see him. My mom and aunt both saiud i can come down every school break and even take a few days off for extra days in florida. So it all worked out good!
He was started in reining but is more of a pleasure horse.

Hi, I don't think I can post a picture...I'll try later when my mom can help, lol. However, I can tell you about my horse. He is an arabian gelding, 8 years old. He is light gray, and my best buddy! He was my lesson horse for two years and when he was up for sale I was crushed. (my parents made it clear buying a horse was out of the question) Then about a MONTH later they surprised me by buying him! His name is CCA Kalibuca but I call him KB. ;) much easier, lol.
PS.Hi, I feel kinda wierd since I have no idea who you are, but...Amattox3 you said your husband was in Iraq. I just wanted to say that if he was over there fighting in the war that I appreciate his services to our country. No need to respond, I ust wanted to say thanks to a soldier who has been fighting for our freedom. (Sorry if he isn't a soldier, I didn't meen to bother you!)

We have a 3 year old dun mustang gelding, although he's being trained for hunter/jumper!
He is like a puppy-dog and totally loves our daughter. He recently travelled to a local show (just for the experience, not to compete). My husband and daughter got to the show facility and were looking all over for him. What they didn't know was that he'd been clipped and so were of course looking for the hairy little monster, since they hadn't seen him with his new hair-do. Finally he must have been fed up with them walking up and down the aisle past him so he stuck his nose as far out of the stall to say "look over here guys, it's me!".
ps the picture shows how he looked before his extreme makeover...

I've got 2 horses that were bred for western. One was imported from the Us and she is called Hotroddin Sabina. She is riding 4 and I think she is beautifu. We are going to do Pleasure classes. She is bossy with other horses, but generally nice with humas- unless she is in season, when she can be a typical mare:D Seen in thumbnail
My other youngster (who I will soon sell as I need an older horse for my son to ride is called Chips R Blazing. She is a 2 year old filly. Very bold and beautiful. Seen here as a yearling.http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m144/zenithqhorses/IMG_0037.jpg

Hello sabinaqh
You say you imported a QH from the states? I've just been looking into this as I'd really love to have a QH.
BUT my RI/YO says that they have terrible problems with their feet?! All the QH's she has known have had this problem?!
I have spoken to John Parker transport (they are based down here in Kent where I live) and they are quoting about 4K to even bring the horse in *eek*
Also I have heard a terrible story of someone who bought a horse unseen from the states which turned out to have all sorts of problems (even though throughly vetted) and they had had to resort to litigation in the states.
How did you bring yours in? Sorry If I'm being nosy :)

Here's the website for AQHA UK.

It might be a good place to find some info about breeders there. I know that reining is really gaining in exposure and I suspect that England would have a strong program. Check em out and attend some shows.
