Hi. Does any one know of a relatively cheap magnetic rug? Can't really afford to fork out loads :)!
Are boots as effective or do they just help with leg stiffness etc?
Cheers!

I know that the equine physio that comes to our yard rent a magnetic therapy rug out for certain lenghts of time. If it is only a short term use this could be an option if there is one to rent in your area. Not sure about cost though. Just an idea. Hope this helps.:)

Magnetic rugs are used for magnetic therapy on a horse. They are electric rugs that stimulate the flow of blood, etc. To find out exactly what they do try looking on http://www.seanet.com/~vettf/MAG.htm . There was loads of stuff on that. Hope this helps.:)

I agree with hunters_4life. A few of the horses on our yard have had the magnetic therapy and we have seen absolutely no difference in them. I think they are a complete waste of money too, but if you are still wanting one fionahogg try to rent one first before you invest a lot of money in buying one.

Fiona, I've been a distributor of Bioflow Magnotherapy units for several years, I can only tell you that of the many I have sold, I have had very few returned, and they have a 90 day guarantee, if they don't work for you (or your horse) you get your money back (bar an admin charge).
I do not recommend them until I have assessed a case, equine or human, and tried at least one Bowen treatment, but sometimes an arthritic or chronic condition needs a bit extra, and the magnets can be helpful. They won't cure a condition, but may make life a lot easier and painfree. Like anything, alternative or allopathic, they won't work for everyone all the time, but the boots at £65 will work as well as a rug, (because they condition the blood, and the blood circulates all round the body) and with the guarantee, are worth a try. They are a Class 1 medical device. Have a look at http://www.ecoflowproducts.com for more info.
PS I'm not trying to sell you anything, just letting you know that many people & animals have benefitted.
