Like i said, this is kinda a strange q but i kinda need help.
I've been trying to talk my parents into letting me have 2 lesssons a week. I have tried everything but they won't listen and insist it's not worth the money!! But everyone tells me that you improve SO much faster!
I don't want to force them, but i KNOW we can afford it.......
Any Help?
Thanks Every1!

Are you old enough to work a part-time job? Offer to pay for the 2nd lesson on your own. If this doesn't work, do extra chores around the house. Or, babysitting. Lawn work. Paper route. Keep your grades up -- as long as they're high, exchange that with your parents for the 2nd lesson.

Or work off your 2nd lesson at the barn -- this is very common, barns can always use the help, and you'll have the extra bonus of being around the horses and learning tons of stuff.

If you show your parents that you are willing to work hard for the 2nd lesson, you'll impress them with your responsible attitude. Try not just asking for it, or demanding it. Strike a deal, an agreement with your parents -- "I'll do "this" in exchange for this."

Keep us posted! Good luck.

And P.S. -- yes, you definitely improve with more than one lesson per week. No question, nada. The more time in the saddle, the better.

Might I add one more thing -- the young girls that I have seen at barns always impress me -- they are more mature than their peers, because they carry alot of responsibility when they get on that horse's back and work so hard, while their friends are out partying or whatever.

Your parents pay for your lessons!??? *VERY jealous* I have to pay for everything myself. Even tranport there!!! If I was to have 2 lessons a week it'd cost me $100!
Goodluck girl! That's all I can say! :)

well, the thing is that our barn has SO many people working ALL THE TIME. so they don't really need/want me. and there is a huge waiting list.....well i'll see. I'll talk to the manager at my next lesson. Thanks!!
ps. My lessons are $100 a month (one per week) but that's Canadian......

Here's what I did: both my parents worked and didn't want to be driving all over creation to get me around. There was this little ice cream place about a block from the barn that paid minimum wage. SOOOOO until I could finally drive, I would have my parents take me out there right after school and then I'd walk to the barn after work and have them pick me up later. It worked out great. In the summer, I had them drop me off at the barn in the morning, ride, train a little, go work, then come back and ride my own horses. It worked great. And working at the ice cream place was great in the summer. Plus, it was FUN! Good luck....
