we had torrential rain today so me and my friend decided to go ride the hrose in the riding hall..for the first half an hour everythign was going beatuifully...i managed to get my haffie to work good in both walk and trot doing perfect circles (shock horror :p) and everythign was making me smile..until a lady entered the arena with her stallion...
i was riding a mare in season...so the stallion played up...my mare played up and it was an exhausting ride...the stallion calmed down after a bit but my mare was full on crazy for 30mins until the lady left with the stallion. My mare was bucking and mini rear and prancing all over the arena...so after all my energy was drained my friend took over and i shcooled her horse and she had a goo on my loopy mare.. but i tell you...although my mare was being a pain and spasing out she looked fabulous!! she was doing the msot wonderful trot and carrying her legs and head and neck beautifully...she was trotting sidewards and generally doing everything 100% better than she normally does it. She even cantered nonstop aroudn the arena 5times ..
anyone would have thought she was the stallion...:D
but then the lady and stallion left and we had another 20mins peaceful but forward going riding...
my mare is usually lazy and terrible in the hall and to get her to do anything is a task! hehe...just goes to show she can attract attention when she wants...
anyway now here is my question...i cant remember correctly but how often are mares in seaons? is it every 18-21 days or what????
