Rupert needs a nice leather bridle to go with his new saddle and while I would love to get him an expensive one I really do not have enough in my piggybank and I haven't managed to track down anyone selling an english leather havana cob size bridle second hand so it looks like I will be buying him a new one.

Currently I am looking at something like the GFS or Heritage bridles...the £40ish range of english leather ones...

So has anyone any experience of these or recommendations?

I have a GFS bridle and am very pleased with it. Must point out that they don't come with reins (at least mine didn't).

Quality of leather is very good as is the workmanship

Reins are not a huge problem as I have loads of pairs at home so I can always use a stray pair until the piggybank has recovered sufficiently to cope with reins too :D

I like my jeffries bridle, but foxy has a GFS bridle as well and it's just as nice. But foxy's jeffries one is new and shiny :D lol!

I would love a jeffries one...but maybe when we are actually out and about doing something more than a little light hacking ;)

Sounds like GFS is winning so far :D

Typical! I didn't ask on here as I was worried it would be seen as advertising and I would have to moderate myself  :D Never mind!

I only want this for 'posh' as he has one of my webbing ones for everyday, but I think a nice leather bridle would look good with his new saddle.

Do you have a Farmway store near you?

If so, try there, my YO picked up a nice GFS bridle for £25

It was in Farmway where I saw the GFS - I think I am going to go and spend my pennies in there tomorrow :D
