Generally yes - unless you are lucky enough to get placed at Hickstead where for reasons best known to themselves it's blue for first and red for second

Red generally first, although I have won all manner of multi-coloured ones in the past for first and second etc. It all depends upon taste.
Charlie's Best Gelding rossette is a bright blue tartan. (shame the Shetland pony society don't know that tartan is not recognised in Shetland at all) All comes from the HQ being in Perth I suppose!

There used to be white 'special' rossettes for unplaced people too... don't see them around any more. :( Shame. I had quite a collection.... :p

We have specials still, when we have little shows we are awful and make sure everyone gets a placing and a special. I know, I know FIX I all hear you shout, but .......... :o :o
Our specials are purple! :D and we also have a little rossette to give to kiddies whose birthday it is or if they are shy you know what I mean, and that one is green.

Red is normally for first and blue for second, but when I was in the pony club, some 20 years ago, first rosette was blue and second was red. I dont know why!!
All the best

Our pony club does it the other way round for some reason
1st = blue, 2nd = red, 3rd = green, 4th = yellow, 5th = pink and 6th = purple.
