You may or may not remember but I posted a thread about the buying of a trailer. Took the advice given and went out and bought a brand new Ifor Williams trailer (you were right Sarah, it was worth paying that bit extra!)

Spent the next 3 days showing it to Gigs who was not entirely opposed to the idea of it and went on with a little encouragement from a feed bowl in front of him and me behind him! Took no notice of husband behind him just turned tolook at him with a look on his face saying - you want me to go in there - I don't think so. As soon as I was behind and did my you are going in growl he went straight up with the - I don't know what all the fuss was about look. He then had three picnics in the trailer with various doors and ramps being closed and opened and seemed happy enough.

Yesterday being the hottest day of the year so far we decided to take him for his first trip. I was very very apprehensive because he has never travelled in a trailer before and it was a hot day, but we needed to do it. So travelling boots on and ballet dancer type back kicks from gigs we went straight on to the trailer and off we went. he travelled wonderfully really quietly and came off the other end (20 minutes) completely unfazed. I was so pleased, it was my birthday as well and really I could not have wished for a better present. Our horizons have suddenly opened up!

Just wanted to share my excitement and pleasure with somebody who is horse crazy as well and watch out Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey cos we're now going places!

Forgot to say this was after a horrible week when I thought I was going to lose my other pony with colic. Fingers crossed and lots of tlc hopefully she will be alright. She seems to be enjoying the guiness she is having once a day anyway!

Good on you Vicky,
I've now had my trailer for a month. It doesn't sound as posh as yours, however, it's been customized for a disabled rider-that's me!! Complete with fold-away mounting block on side of trailer.I have no problem with the horse,it's me that's nervous. How's the reversing going?? I can reverse around corners reasonably well now, but straight lines?? Ha! I just hope I can walk a better straight line!! They tell me it all comes to those who wait....But I know how you feel.I've got my first dressage test ever on Tuesday, and this time I can take my own horse all my myself, and doesn't it feel wonderful? The feeling of independence is fantastic.Drive safely.... and you'll have loads of pleasure. Good Luck with your trailer and your horse, Vicky.
