Just wondering, are you all UK based or what? Also is it mainly adults on this forum as a lot of the posts seem to be from younger one?? :)

I actually picked the name ragdoll as I have a ragdoll cat, who just turned one. I'm taking her to a show tomorrow which should be fun. AFter 3hrs of grooming she looks great. :)
we seem to be a very multinational bunch. I'm from NZ, just found this site by mistake the other night. adults riding ponies isn't a big thing over here and can be a real pain for competing. I like showing but nearly every show states that you must be under 17 to ride a pony :mad:

There is a good proportion of adults on here, its just we have quite a lot of younger members posting regularly at the moment.

As for nationality, it is a UK based site but we have loads of members all over the world, one of our moderators is from NZ and another from the US as well as UK ones :)

I am 27 and ride a 13.1hh New Forest type pony....what do you ride?

I'm 25, 1.6m tall, 50kg and have a 14.1hh chestnut nz riding pony called willy(!). just bought him as I am getting back into riding after a 10yr break while studying etc. He's a 22 yr old schoolmaster, been there/done that type. haven't had much time to ride lately as the weather has been uncooperative and been busy at work as I started a new job this year. looking forward to doing more over easter :)

Hi. Welcome to the friendliest Horse related website. ;) I am 33yrs old. I own a 14 2hh HW cob called Captain . We also have a 11hh Shetland called Bonnie for my 7 yr old daughter. I blame my love of horses on Bonnie. She is the most adorable little girl. I had been looking for a Bonnie with longer legs for myself. Came across Captain last year and although previous horse made me skint I just knew he was the one and scrambled the money together pronto. Anyway we are getting on famously and hope to go to some local Shows this year. Don't want to do anything fancy just the novelty classes like Best Tail etc. What do you plan on doing this year??

Hi there, ragdoll!

I'm Myra - 27 years old & 5'6". I'm from Canada, and I own (or am owned by, rather) a rising 8 year old 14.1hh Paint mare, Vixen.

I returned to riding after a 1.5 year absense with gusto, by buying a mare we didn't know had very, very little training and no respect for people. That, combined with a whack of new fears (I guess having a baby changed all that!), it's certainly been an interesting journey.

I'm pretty new, too - sure glad I found New Rider! :-)

Hi I'm Angela and I'm 28. I have a 14hh fell pony called Spirit. Luckily the shows round here (in UK) don't have any rules about age and size of pony - particularly for natives. When I lived with my parents I sold my pony when I was 16 because at all the shows there adults had to have a horse. Very sad really as she was very cobby and would have been fine for me.
