I am trying to retrain my horse to work in a long a low out line.
She has been treated by a psyiotherapist for some tense musle in her neck and is fine now but I need to teach her to lower her head and work through her back at ALL TIMES(not after 40 minutes of sticking her head in the air first which she used to do untill I got her going properly. The 40 minutes is what did the damage in the first place. After 40 minutes I could achieve a long and low out line in walk and trot)
She will work fine in walk on long reins but as soon as we go into trot the head comes up and she starts to use all the wrong muscles, previously I would still carry on with long reins asking her to go forward with impulsion and also using transitions and lateral moves to encourage her to work through.
How can I get her to stretch her outline in trot?
