Hi everyone max and I are getting on really well I have even started trying to trot but am finding it hard to get into the rithem of trot and rise. I have masterd how to control max to go the way I want him to and he lissens to me whyal riding him. He is so sweet natured I have also sorted out the other problem I had of loosing my wellies in the muddy field when fetching max in, I take him a carret or apple and after a couple of times he allways comes to the gate and now I call him on the way to the field and he starts walking to the gate before he can see me. I have done some schooling with him aswell and responds well to the aids well I will keep you posted tina louise and max

Hi Tinalouise,
Glad you're doing well. I reckon your rhythm in trot will come. Strangely perhaps, I never had a problem with that though I used to rise far too high. I still have trouble feeling the correct diagonal and still have to look down. Once I've done that I can feel one is more natural, but grrrr, that annoys me so much!

Keep it up- like your wellies ;)

Hi. Sounds like you are having fun and really enjoying yourself. Can't really be too technical about the trot but if think 1-2-1-2-1-2 (up-down-up-down). It might help. When I first tried Captain I thought I would never get used to his fast trot. But know I ride like its the norm. :) All horses trot are different, I think the more you practise it will just all click into place. The next thing you will be wondering about is how to get the Canter transition. :)
