Popups

The Sky movies popups that we seem to have on here now are necessary for NewRider to get money, but are a little irritating.

I have a pop up blocker, it blocks about 10 pop ups each time I browse the forum, but a couple still get through. Any way to turn them off in user panel or something?

Maybe get a different blocker as I don't get any with my blocker. I can't stand pop ups either. :(

Ive got Norton Internet Security, which blocks popups really well (so well that I didnt even know there was any on NR!) I think it came with a virus scanner too, so you can get rid of all the viruses you pick up without knowing!

I have asked that we don't have any pop-ups from the advertising supplier but these seem to have slipped through. I will ask again for them to be turned off.

I get the problem when I'm using the AOL browser. In the past half an hour it's blocked 11 popups and let out two. Contraty piece of software. :)

Mike, they are at it again. Getting pop ups from a casino now. :D 2 got through, 23 have been blocked, and that's in 15 mins.

Naughty advertisers.

They're even getting past my popup blocker, which is pretty effective. Yeech.

I used to have terrible problems with popups until a friend of mine gave me an anti virus, spyware etc disk. I installed this and it found hundreds of the things. Ever since it's been installed though (with regular checkups and updates) I haven't had a single popup.

So with one disk, it went from about at 5 popups per minute to none per month!

I find this thread really interesting as i have never, ever had a pop-up when i have been on NR, even before we had a pop-up blocker!! :eek:
