Is it possible to wean a horse away from being rugged? How would you go about it? Would it just be gradually increasing the time rugless?

I'm not quite sure I understand. Are you doing this because it is getting warmer and you dont need the rug anymore or is it that your horse won't want to take it off. If you horse doesn't like it off of him then it would be a case of weaning him away from it. But, if it is just getting warmer and your horse doesn't care, then it is an easy explanation.

Reply back answering a few of my questions and then i'll be happy to help more!

its fine u didnt baffle me at all! Anyways, if you have rugged a horse all winter and it hasn't been able to grow a nice thick bushy winter coat then it is best to keep the rug on if it is really called. But also if its a really nice day let the horse got out without the rug and just let them be able to run around freely without a blanket. If you horse has a thick winter coat, he doesnt probably need a rug and also, its the hay and extra food thats going to keep him warm so you could pile up the hay and feed and take the rug off and he'llprolyl be fine for a night!
