Hi
I've just joined and thought I would introduce myself. I'm 38 yrs old and have just started riding again. I sold my horse last summer for a number of reasons and told myself that I would never ride again, however the pull of wanting to ride again has been getting stronger and stronger so I've had a couple of rides on my daughters horse over the last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it :)
I'm hoping to arrange lessons very soon and would love to have my own horse again one day :)

Hello and welcome. I am new too. I have looked at alot of other message boards, and this one is just so much friendlier and active. You will love it. I have been out of the riding scene for several years now. I just bought my first horse in February. I rode alot in my younger years, but this is the first I have ever owned. I am really enjoying being a horse owner. I am learning alot just by reading others posts. So again, welcome and I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do. :)

Hi
I have just joined (yesterday) and would like to welcome you. :p I will have been riding for a year in June, and I am dying to get my own horse, but I don't think I will be getting one in the near future as no-one in my family is 'Horsy' apart from me, and I am only 12 with not much experience of being around horses. But, :D I am supposed to be going to visit one of my Mum's friends and her horse, Benji, to groom him etc. and maybe even ride him :D
Just to say welcome again :D

Hi :)
I got my first horse September 11th 2004 after years of working for riding, working at riding schools, taking lessons, looking after other people's horses etc.
It's been an 'interesting' 6 months but she's settled down nicely (not that we won't have some more 'interesting' moments in the future as she's only 5, well, rising 6 now :)).
Goldies-Girl - get lots of experience around horses (riding and care) and you'll find it SO much easier once you do get your own. It's worth waiting for :)
You'll learn a lot from here that you won't necessarily learn from a riding school. There's a big 'natural horsemanship' following on here and it's helpful to learn from other people's 'problems' as they're often the same as your own :)
I'm looking forward to hearing more from you all :D

Thanks for the replies!
I only got 'into' horses just over three years ago, although I've always loved them. I'm quite a nervous rider and don't have a lot of confidence but I'm hoping that I will get braver as time goes on :)

Hi Laine
I lurked for months on the site before just recently joining. I've just turned 38 and have been riding on and off for 15 years - always coming back to it as it's so addictive isn't it?! I still think I'm a pretty rubbish rider and have started having private lessons in addition to group lessons as I need to work on the basics and am hoping to get my own horse eventually ...
I find the site great for friendly, helpful advice and am sure you will too :)

thanks again for the warm welcome :)
unfortunately I can't afford lessons at the moment, but am hoping to ride my daughters horse to get my confidence up a bit and then start lessons when I've sorted myself out :)
