whilst everything is grand at the new yard (other than being chased by horses in fields, ahem), i am thinking of putting angel in a different stable because ... the mare that was stabled next to her has been moved, so now there is 3 empty stables next to angel, with 2 geldings at the end of the stableblock. and as mares and geldings are still going in the field on alternate days, she is currently alone in the row of stables when the geldings are out and there isnt a hell of a lor for her to see when she is in the stable.
she doesnt seem to mind (but then, im not inside her huge head so i cant be sure of that!!), but i was thinking of trying to move her either closer to these geldings or where its generally a bit busier.
im worried it will confuse her though, because we've only just moved yards ...

If she seems happy I'd leave her where she is but put some things to do iher stable like hang some veg etc

tried the veg on string thing ... she'll just rip it down and eat it
she's got a snackball (though thats normally emptied in one fell swoop, then kicked in the corner ...) and a likit (now just a salt one because she was eating any of the sweet ones in 30mins, ahem), along with ad lib hay (and some haylage for variety) to nibble on. she seems happy enough ... shes either standing in the stable eating or she sticks her head out and watched people by the muckheap or dozes (i have asked people who spend more time at the yard than i do to observe!). in a couple of weeks, all the horses will go out for the summer, anyway.

I would move her. Could you speak to someone (our friend with the caravan? :p ) to ask that if she seemed more stressed after the move you could move back? Being able to watch other horses and things being done on the yard really helped to alleviate Max's boredom when he was in 24/7. Of course, if she's just happy dozing after a hard nights eating then there's not an lot of point, but I can't see it doing any harm. :)

if its only a few weeks then i would hang on for a while. if she doesnt seem stressed she must be ok
im sure an exmoor would make its feelings heard if it wasnt happy ;)

she seems happy enough (not when there was hale and thunderstorm today though - she went ballistic and i was worried she'd climb the door. dont think shes ever witnessed a thunderstorm from inside a stable .. and the tin roof didnt help. she had calmed down though by the time i left the yard). im sure i could move her back if i wanted to, theres so many empty stables there it doesnt really matter.
from her current one she can see the muckheap and those 2 geldings (when theyre in, which they are at night or the days she goes out), plus the mounting block everyone uses.
