At my riding school I ride a very lovely (but VERY bouncy!) bay gelding named Gizmo. I always ride him bareback up to the field, and I remember the first time I tried trotting him I almost bounced straight off :D !! But then I did a lot of work in the school without stirrups and continued trotting him bareback, and now I can sit to it easily :D .
Now when I trot bareback on other horses, it feels just like floating :D :D !!

One of my mares is very bouncy, plus she does a cammel walk as well when she is excited, she has no withers and is like a barrel (I dont mean she's fat its just her shape), bare back is pretty impossible in anything more than walk, but I do try, she has her back checked every 2 months and never has anything wrong so I know when I try I know I'm not hurting her but I will master it eventually! Trouble is I dont have a school I ride in one of my fields!

I sometimes ride a big bay horse called murphy and he is the bounciest horse ever but some how i manage to stay on. The worst thing about it though is when you have canterd and coming back to trot. He is lovely though and looks after you. I have also rode a few very bony little ponies *Owch*

i ride my pony in a bareback pad made with suade, its really good coz you stick to it!!! :D although it doesnt help stop a bouncy pony. my pony used to be bouncy untill she realised if she trots fast i bounce more, so she now realises that if she trots slow its more comfortable for her and me!!!!!!! :)

My horse has a very bouncy trot, Since he is starting to work a lot better recently it has become smoother, but i find it hard to get this smooth trot when bare back. I need a rug or saddle pad if i want to be able to do more than a few strides without hurting my horses back.
However I have found it gets loads easier with practice. But if I stop riding him bare back regularly I forget again, grrr.

Rhi can be bouncy and hard to sit to. Hence the prob with canter work.
I also used to ride a very bouncy horse called Splodge when I first started to learn to ride

Sam was fantastic for bareback riding ... like a sofa and really smooth and collected... however when hacking with others bareback you really had to watch for the bucking out of excitement ...and obviously jumping!
new girly though widish, is v.springy and I don't think her back is strong enough yet for stirrup less work let alone bareback, though I have tried - but she gets confused. when she's fitter we'll go back to it if necc.
