sorry to be dim, but why do all my posts come up with the 'edit' button still visible bottom right next to 'quote'? And, while I'm at it, how do you include quotes from another post in a reply? sorry again.

Edit - if you want to edit a post you have written. It won't appear on any post you haven't written.
Quote - appears on the bottom right corner of all posts.. find teh post you want to quote, and click that button.
Experiment alittle. :)

Thanks, Entreat, but (sorry again, not only dim, but unable to explain what I mean!) Look at your answer and my original post - the edit button is still there on mine but not on yours - Why ??

Because you can't edit Entreat's posts - Entreat will see the edit button on her posts but no-one else's too. The only people who see the edit button on all posts are mods and admin, otherwise each member will only see edit on their posts and no other members.
Hope that's clearer than I think it is...

Consider me scarlet with mortification, and grateful for the patient and perfectly clear explanation .....
