Well as you know I am one of the Nervious Nellies.
In light of us sharing our stories of things that we have over come:
I have finially taken my horse camping :) We went last weekend and I could not have had a better time. She loaded into the trailer , with just the slightest bribe of a carrot. She hasn't been in a trailer for over 2 years. We got to camp , and it was dark, I put her in the pipe corral I had taken to our camp a few weeks before and she was fine all night, even when the neighbours dogs discovered her at 2am and sounded the alarm.
I rode her all over our 5 acers, with no problems.. :D I wanted to take her into the woods across the street , but there was some kind of extened hunting season, and a lot of gun fire. My hubby & my brother rode their ATVs all over the camp, right up to her !! She didn't move she was eating hay and just looked at them as if to say , " Do you mind I am eating " :p
So all the things that I thought would set her off into a mass of snorts and spooks didn't.

Things can't get much better than riding your horse all day then sitting around a campfire with friends and family, with a beer in one hand and your horse in the other. :D

I can't believe she didn't mind the ATV's. At our barn, if we hear one even in the distance.. we're wondering who's gonna spook. hehehe

We probably get the most spooks from deer wandering up to the barn and ice sliding off the roof. (nothing like a crowded arena of horses going ape-*&^!) Glad it's getting warmer and don't need to worry about that anymore for a while.

Great job on the camping, she sounds like a lovely girl with a good head. :)

Good for you - I bet it was wonderful. :) Horse camping is one of my major goals *slowly turns green and slant-eyed with jealousy*. :D
