Here you are!! It went really well. Why on earth was I so nervous?! He's lovely, he's adorable, he's cuddly, he loves carrots, he is a dream to ride, he's a clydesdale tbx, 15. 2 I think, he did everything I asked him, as soon as I asked... spot on trot, spot on canter.... Such a difference from a riding school horse! I sign the agreement on saturday, and start the part loan next week, doing Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays :D The agreement is for a year, at the end of which there's a possibility of full loan as the owner will be going away to uni !! I am completely and utterly over the moon. He is perfect for me!

Thanks everyone :) I'm going to continue having one private lesson per week now, on Fridays, obviously on Zip, and I can't believe that going from having 2 private lessons per week - 40 quid, to having a part loan 3 whole days per week and then one lesson per week is only going to cost me a tenner more! Bargain! ;) All that searching and I found him right in front of my nose :D
Roll on Monday.... :)

Going to sign the agreement tomorrow..... :D :D :D
I printed out a picture of Zip, when I look at it I keep getting this vague feeling of kind of missing him! And I only spent a couple of hours with him so far! Is that soppy or normal? 3 more sleeps til Monday, when it all officially kicks off :D
Justie B52
15th Apr 2005, 06:26 PM
Hey MadMum,
Soppy, but in a normal horsey sort of way :) If he were my loan I'd be missing him already too.....but alas...he is not :(
Not that I'm jealous or anything  ;)
I haven't heard the phrase 'Sleeps' for years!!! I used to use it for counting down to seeing the BF......I'll let you know if I ever use it for a horse though ;)
Hope all goes smoothly with the signing, please let us know when it's all done?
(((Hugs)))

Of course I will Jus :) My kids always used to use the word 'sleeps' to count down to something exciting, so I thought it was appropriate in this case :D
I hope you're prepared for next week... your email inbox won't know what's hit it ;)

He looks lovely!!! I'm so jealous. I've only been able to sit on Phoenix once so far, but his owner managed to lie over him, then sit on him and I led him a few steps in a figure of eight and he stayed really calm. Next week I might get to sit while he's led, but I can't wait for the day when he's ready to do the things with me that you're able to do with Zip.
As for sleeps, I count the sleeps between the days when I see Phoenix and I know exactly how you feel - it's that wee, warm vibration in the pit of your stomach when you think about your horsie. I also counted the sleeps to my official share date starting and on the day it started I woke up and was half way down the stairs when I remembered. I think I floated down the remaining stairs and didn't touch the ground for the next 3 days.
So I'll be thinking of you floating around and I hope you really enjoy playing with Zip. Good luck!

He's gorg, what will you do with him when your not in lessons, do you have a school to use or are you braving the big outdoors?
MadMumInKent
16th Apr 2005, 05:29 PM
Hi Pickles :)
There's an indoor school and an outdoor one too, and they are free a lot of the time mid-week which is great for me! All I have to do apparently is check the book to make sure no lessons are coming in, and if they're free, I can use them, I haven't been out hacking since my return to riding, and though Zip is fine hacking out, his owner suggested I start out on one of the RS plods just to get a feel for the area, so that when I DO take Zip out I won't have to worry about getting lost and can just concentrate on Zip.

Hi Madmum
Only two more sleeps .... I can remember how it feels. All the very best for Monday, and I hope Zip is as right for you as my loan horse Tally is for me. And I really can't say fairer than that!
