just realised its almost been a year since i first had the pleasure of meeting angel :)
when i got her she'd been out of work for months, before that she was mainly used for madcap hacks
she saw rein contact and any sort of leg as a 'must go faster' or 'ah! i know, this means i have to go up a gear' cue and was almost impossible to canter in the school (balance etc.)
since then things have improved (at a slow pace, am not a very good rider, ahem), we now can ...
canter in the school at a civilised pace, sometimes on the bit
do various trot speeds up to extended on a good day
brake without the dutch gag she had when she came (now a french link)
steer well in trot ad walk and reasonably well in canter. still working on the latter though :)
canter on hacks in company without her taking off
also, vet said she had much better manners now compared to when she first arrived :)
do you think were making progress?

heres what we cant do :D
canter often leaves a lot to be desired in terms of accuracy, transition (she lurches at times ...) and steering (the ducking and diving ...)
overall balance needs improving
lunging only works in trot (cant get her out on the circle in walk ... ahem)
continue walking when shes having a poo. it takes so long to get her moving when she is pooing that, by the time were moving again, she is usually finished so i have given up on that one
