Just wondering what choices I have if I want to buy one of these?
Is the Parelli one the best one to get or are there cheaper alternatives of the same quality?
Cheers!

The 'Best Friend' bareback pad is very good value for money. I've had mine now for just over twelve months and it's still in 'as new' condition.
I rate this bareback pad as high as the 'Parelli' model.

what is the materials of the best friend bareback pad? i havew the parelli one and it is made of leather cinch straps felt on the bottom and on the top suade!! it is brill, i feel soooo connected to meg when i ride her and done my first ride with string round her neck in it, thats how safe i felt!! you do stick to it if the horse isnt bouncy and it is quite thick so it spreads a bit of pressure from your seat!

Hi Michelle,
I've found this link that gives an in depth description on the 'Best Friend' bareback pad.
http://www.barebackpad.co.uk
My horse has extremely high withers and also suffers from stringhalt, so as you can imagine he's got a VERY bouncy trot but this doesn't cause a problem because the 'Best Friend' helps keep my seat secure (a bit like being attached to the pad with velcro).
I've tried a Parelli pad in the past but I can honestly say I find the B/F more comfortable. :)

thanx for the link! i do think the best friend pad looks quite good because it looks like it will mould better to the horse than the parelli one and it is CHEAPER!!!!!!

also on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=72594&item=7150450351&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
and I confess its me selling it ;)
Difference to BF one is both + and -
My one has detachable stirrups, but a less sophisticated girth.
Plus the underneath on mine is fleecy - so if you have a nice broad backed horse, there's less stickability !
I just don't use it and am having a clear out of all the things I don't use...
Interesting that the BF pad on eBay seems to have a reserve on it, and you can't set a reserve below £50 - but their Buy It Now price is £52. So doesn't that mean that the price range is only 50-52 ?
Ah well, who am I to comment on what people bid for items on eBay....
p.s. bought mine when I was living in Sweden. Haven't seen this style anywhere here but could be wrong ?

We have one of those cvb, but ours came off ebay and had been an import from America, I too haven't seen one of them for sale in the UK.
I like my bareback pad I bought from Showjumper on here but she has stopped importing them :( It is highly recommended though if you can find a similar one, it is velvety and so very sticky that I actually found it hard to dismount never mind slide off :D It also stayed very well on Rupert who is circular and is very comfy.
Have heard good things about the best friend bareback pad but have never tried one
Here are Rupert and I demonstrating a very bad position :o with my bareback pad!

I'd just like to agree that the Best Friend is a lovely bareback pad. I found that the Parelli one put too much pressure on the withers, the Best Friend is much better.
