In my last lesson, my horse had been ridden in a lesson just before me and they were jumping so she was a little hyper.

I walked her around for a bit and then we started trotting. She was then just being really sluggish and kept putting her head down and was so on the forehand that she tripped once.

I'm sure it was the way I was riding, but what could I have been doing?? Instructor kept telling me to keep her head up and told me to pull up on one rein when she started to put her head down.

I was trying to squeeze with my legs and hold the reins steady but it was not working very well. I know it was me because she was going fine in the lesson before.

I just don't know what I was doing wrong. Can anyone tell from what I wrote?

Sounds tired from what i've read? I am assuming the walk off that you did with the horse probably acted as a cool down period and they thought there work was over.

How many lessons had she been used for ?

Yes, it was supposed to be a cool down and just the lesson before mine and mine, so mine was the second. Then she got her bath and her carrots and back to her hay in her stall and lights out!

if she was mentally hyper from jumping, then she may not have noticed being tired at the time. then as she calmed down in your cool-off, she would have noticed that she was actually tired.

Agree with tired.

Also, perhaps the rider before you had heavy hands. Horses will pull, be heavy and go on the FH as a result of heavy hands.

Could be a few things, but tired is my first guess as well.
