for your horse to become proficient at the 7 games? I am just wondering if my progress is 'normal' if there is such a thing with horses!!

Also as my husband is home earlier than me he does alot of it with my horse, is it a bad thing if we are both doing it with him or does it not matter as long as we are consistent?

Thanks Cate:)

Hi,

It's a bit like saying how long is a piece of string. :)

The main factor is probably how long your able to spend playing the games with your horse each week. You've probably already realised that some games seem easier for your horse to understand than others (TB found the sideways game the most difficult to get to grips with).

One of Pat's ditto's is 'never seen it take more than two days'. But I found his other saying 'it takes as long as it takes' to be more appropriate. ;) If I can remember right, I think it took me and TB around 8-10 weeks to complete the seven games to 'assessment level'. This was playing on average one hour per day six days a week. The main thing to remember is L1 is not about perfection, move onto the next game as soon as you can do the previous one (L1 isn't perfected untill you've completed L2)).

Also, I don't think it matters that both you and your husband play the games with your horse as long as your consistent and your all having fun. :D
