Poppy has often shown her irritation by some kind of leaping (never nasty and infrequent, never after being settled so it doesn't really bother me, no one who is phased by it will be able to ride her anyway. should i be more concerned?) but her newest thing is leaping into the school. she jumps perfectly as if jumping a 3ft oxer from standstill, it's a lovely feeling :D  but i have a feeling this one might start a habit and i'd rather it didn't from the point of view of dressage!

at the moment i just try to get her in between my hands and leg as much as possible, but she actually can do it from that position. any advice for my foolish mare and i  ?

OK, I know nothing about your horse so I will make some huge assumptions so feel free to shoot me down because they are wrong.

Is she young? we have a 3 year old who dosen't like the change in color when working, you know white line on the road or where the tarmac changes, those scary things that might be horse ankle biters :D My, now, 7 year old also used to do this. If I am anywhere near right by changing what you are doing, ie only at this point collecting and being extra attentive you could be indicating to your horse that there is something to worry about just there and re-inforcing the actin as being what you want.

I appologise if I am completely wrong but thats just what sprung to mind :p .
