Just to say I have had the vet out who says nothing wrong Jake is just being lazy. The vet advised against too much sheath cleaning, as all the good bacteria will be removed.
The main problem is when Jake urinates it runs down his belly then onto the floor – I know the vet said this OK but just wondered has anyone else come across this. I tend to regularly rinse his skin with water then use a very mild hibiscrub when it seems very damp on his skin. My worry is in this warm weather if I don’t keep it clean it will get very sore.
I try not to clean his actual sheath too much but Jake gets very mucky and shows his discomfort by being very sensitive around his sheath area. I have cleaned inside his sheath and got a lot of mess out but am just not sure about getting right into the back area. Am I wasting my time by not doing the job properly and getting this bean out????
Thanks for any advice
Cathy.
