Any one got any suggestions on the right sort of feed for a horse who has been in an accident, box rest for about 3 months (approx) and is now very slowly going to be introduced back into work and a more active life style. Obvious he has lost a lot of muscle which isn't a prob right now. Just want to work on one thing at a time. I've been doing abit of reading and read that chopped alfalfa is high in protein and energy and that barley is also good for weight gain? Also any helpful tips on extras such as oils? Cod liver oil?

cod liver oils and anything with glucosamine in it would be good :) yes alfalfa would be good also but not too much.
