got a pony mare who evidently is scrubbing her tail (top roughed up but not really bad) and she has literally rubbed sores on either side of the tail. this pony's coat is sleek and gleaming and she looks like a million dollars except for this. was wormed may 1st...what could it be?? any thoughts appreciated.

Could be pin worms, could be beginning of sweetitch or just that she's itchy in general.
I've known people swear by Listerine mouthwash rubbed into the dock of the tail for solving problems like this. Never done it myself though, not sure if I'd dare. I'd worm as well if it hasn't been done recently.

thank you. she was wormed may 1st. but i'll do it again just to be sure.
don't see how listerine could hurt her if it's safe to put in human mouths. :) will try that, too. anyone know of a good shampo that maybe would be non itch, too?
