ok well i was bein an idiot and tied my horse and then w/o tyin him wit a quick release knot. well i wasnt payin attention to him n some how he got the rope thorugh his front legs and then wrapped 2 or 3 times around his back leg. it was almost dark so i didnt check his legs to see if they were ok. and i didnt think nething had happened to him. well the next day i go out to fill his water trough n i sprayed him off a lil bit. then when i was rubbin him down i felt somin hard n rough on the inside of his left leg or towards his shoulder. i thought maybe a lotta bugs had bite him at first. then i looked at it and if was rope burn!! all the way across his left foreleg at the top. then i look at his back leg n there was deep rope burn on it too!!!

due to laziness on my part n the weather, i didnt take care of the burns so now they r probably infected! what do i do?? ive tried puttin a bandage on the one on his foreleg but no matter what i do it wont stay!! ive even tried duck tape!!! that didnt work either! n i wont let me put a bandage on his back leg so i jus squirted some bactine on it.

what else do i do???
after this heals. im gonna have to do a lot of work w/him to get him where i can be able to mess with his back legs.

can you ride with rope burn?

ok thanks for yalls help!

That rope must have been pretty long for him to be able to do that!
I would just cold hose them or put an ice pack on them to relieve any heat or swelling a few times a day. You could also put some wound cream on, like Dayson and Hewitt?

It's really not a good idea to tie up using a lunge line, it's just asking for trouble. If you really have to do it, then he should not be left unsupervised.
