why are some of the threads closed?
who does this, the writer or the moderators?

the moderators.they do it if they think the thread is getting out of hand or too o/t.or could just be carried on through pming so as not to take up space on teh forum.

There's a few reasons the mods would close a thread like S&B says - if posters are getting into a fight over something, if it's wandered too far off topic, if it's a simple question that's been answered already, or if the original poster requests that it's closed.
Members can't close their own threads, but they can PM a mod to close it if they want it locked for any reason - we'll happily do that too.

Unless it's in the 'Cafe' - they drop off the board in around 7 days.

Even those can be closed Entreat :D
Titles of threads can also be changed but only through the mods
